CITIZEN Watch is releasing two new models from its Series 8 collection of mechanical watches that combine practicality and functionality with modern and sporty designs. These new 890 Mechanical models are equipped with magnetic resistance and water resistance to 20 BAR.

With their modern, dynamic styling, Series 8 watches suit any scene, from business meetings to casual days off. The collection’s mechanical watches provide a range of practical features and a supremely comfortable fit. Two new 890 Mechanical models combining eye-catching designs and superior functionality are now being added to the line-up.

These new 890 Mechanical models offer magnetic resistance as well as water resistance to 20 BAR. This combination of functionality with a stylish, sporty design makes them the perfect partners for active lifestyles. The case of each model has a unique three-piece construction with a stylish octagonal bezel for an eye-catching look. Each case features both mirror and brushed finishes with complex patterns along with the clean, straight lines that are the hallmark of the Series 8 collection. The chunky design of the bidirectional inner bezel gives the watches an even sportier look. The dial features the same checkered pattern seen on the popular 880 Mechanical model launched in 2023, a pattern exclusive to Series 8 watches. This striking pattern has been updated for these new models to create a bolder, more distinctive look.
These new models can move seamlessly from business occasions to sports and leisure activities on the water, reflecting the active lifestyle of the wearer.

The transparent case back reveals the ticking heart of the watch, and the movement is also equipped with magnetic resistance to maintain the accuracy of the watch by reducing the effects of magnetic fields produced by smartphones and tablets in our digital society. High-spec features include average daily accuracy of -10 to +20 seconds and a running time of approx. 42 hours.

The dial design, also featured on the 880 Mechanical model launched in 2023, is inspired by the night sky of Tokyo featuring countless skyscrapers with different sizes of square windows to create a modern take on the traditional Japanese checkered pattern. This checkered pattern has long been used in Japan to symbolize prosperity, and the updated version of this pattern on the dial – exclusive to Series 8 – is now bolder and more distinct.

The movement is equipped with magnetic resistance to maintain the accuracy of the watch by reducing the effects of magnetic fields produced by smartphones and tablets in our digital society.
