The brand wanted to express the essential beauty of the watch with supreme simplicity while crafting the perfect configuration for precision time-telling. It succeeded because CITIZEN is a true manufacture d’horlogerie.

Almost every component in this model was made from scratch.Take the rotor, the heart of any watch.Normal rotors have a three-component structure that would never fit into a 1.00mm movement.

Citizen made the rotor dramatically smaller by using a two-component structure and a new welding technique. Followed the same process of experimentation with the coil and the power cell,turning conventional watchmaking wisdom on its head in order to create something truly revolutionary.
